I hope everyone had a great Memorial weekend. We had the best weather ever and enjoyed our long weekend. It even got warm enough to fill up our little kiddie pool. We had a bbq and roasted hot dogs and enjoyed our first smores of the season.
My phone is broken so I haven't been able to take pictures like I normally do. I did get the big camera out for a bit so I'll have to share those pictures later.
Cain is almost done with school, only a few more days left. He is going to be going to young 5's and we have orientation for that tomorrow night. I am really hoping he does as well as he did this year at his new school next fall.
Now that I am used to Cain being gone a few hours a few days a week I feel like this is going to be a long summer. Ha! I know when he has a long break from school he gets antsy and sick of being home with me all day every day. I'm hoping to plan some things to keep us busy this summer. Say a prayer for us :)
We have entered the stage of "get out of my room". Cain will be playing something and have all his toys placed just so and Carly will march in there and want to play. Cain freaks out, kicks her out, and slams the door. Then Carly cries from the other side hoping he will open it. It's just so much fun.
My mom is coming to stay with us next week for the week and I'm pretty excited! So other then that I'm just planning Carly's second birthday which is coming up so fast. I can't believe she's going to be two! Also still enjoying Cain's t-ball games.
What will everyone be doing this summer? I am in need of some ideas to keep us all busy and sane :)
Cain: He got to play catcher at his game last night. He called it is armor, lol. He could barely move his legs but he was so darn cute!
Carly: She's been battling a little cold this week - a fever, a cough, runny nose. Lots of bathes this week just to try and make her feel better. Poor girl! I feel so bad when my kids aren't feeling good.
touching base today because I got a new effing car and I love it. Like I want to go sit in it in the driveway and just smell the new car smell all day long. Chris and I had been on the hunt for a new car for awhile now - we went and looked at a few different cars but I couldn't get over my love for the new Ford Fusion. So yesterday Chris came home in the afternoon to "borrow" the van to move a desk for work. He came home a few hours later, just in time for me to go to work, with a black Ford Fusion! I had no idea. It was pretty awesomesauce. I freaked out - hopped in - and drove to work in my new car with the biggest smile on my face.
I was on a roll last week blogging almost every day - then I blinked and it's Thursday and I haven't blogged once all week. We have been kind of busy this week. Monday I helped in Cain's class for the morning. I love days where I get to go help, the kids are so cute!
Tuesday was my dreaded dentist appointment. I really hate going to the dentist. I found a new one down here and I really like her so I am hoping it goes well when I have to go back for a crown :( Here's me with my crazy, half numb mouth, smile.
Also on Tuesday we went to Cain's t-ball practice. He did really great again. Well minus him coming off the field in tears because he was scared of a lady - and when asked why he was scared of her he said he was scared of her face. lol. I know it's not really that funny but it made us giggle. One more week until he has his first game. Lets hope the freaking rain stops around here by then!
Wednesday night we went to one of Chris' friends house for dinner (Hi Brad if you are reading this). He cooked for us and it was his birthday - I felt super horrible because I didn't know it was his birthday when we made plans for dinner. And for the record I tried to cancel but he insisted. Anyway whenever I hang out with "new people" I always feel super awkward. First of all I feel super boring because all I ever talk about are children related things and a dude who doesn't have kids doesn't want to hear about preschool, t-ball, tantrums, etc. The other thing I do on a regular basis is go to work and no one wants to hear about that either. So I feel super lame. Then add the fact that you are bringing your two children into someone else's house and there is an entire new element of fun. For the first half hour or so the kids are really great because it's a new situation, a new place, they are a little shy. But after that wares off it's like opening up the flood gates for crazy town. They let their true colors shine. It's a little stressful trying to make sure they behave and don't break things. So sorry Brad that I am socially awkward.
Today was kind of nice because we didn't have a single thing on the agenda until later this evening when I had to work. We hung out in our pj's all morning - watched cartoons and read books. It would have only been better if it weren't so chilly out and we could have spent time outside.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll try and post my weekly pictures tomorrow.
