It's been a busy week...

last weekend we celebrated birthdays for the nieces and nephews. It was so fun having all our family together. Here are a few pictures of the two different birthday parties.

Jett turned 4 :)
there was lots of eating...
and swimming.

Then the next day we celebrated my sister's kids birthdays. They live out of state and were here for two weeks. We don't usually get to celebrate with them so it was fun.

new favorite picture of Chris and Carly.

So other then that Cain took his first ride in the dune buggy. He's always been to afraid in the past.

Then my sister came down to my house to stay for the second week they were here. It was fun to watch the kids all play together. I didn't really take any pictures that week - I was just enjoying the week.

Ok random brain dump...

- Our little birds are gone now. I can't believe how fast that happened. They got big really fast and now they are gone. Cain and I went out one day to check on them and they were gone. I'm kind of sad we can't watch them anymore. This picture is hard to see but you can see the two heads. This was the last picture we got.

- I go back and forth between staying at home with my kids or getting a part time job. For quite some time I have been super content being home but just recently started thinking of finding a part time job. Just searching though makes me think there isn't a decent part time job that would fit my schedule as mom of two and one heading to preschool in the fall. I want to be super involved with Cain's school stuff and that is the most important thing to me right now. So if I find something awesome that is flexible I'll try and scoop it up.

- I've just recently visited a new endocrinologist about my thyroid. I'm hoping this doctor is going to figure something out because the last doctor I saw sucked. It really sucks knowing that something is going on but not knowing what it is. So I just got tons of blood work done. Now I have a few appointments in the next couple of weeks for some testing. Crossing my fingers for some answers.

- My sister is in town and will be staying with us next week. It's going to be fun - especially for Cain to be able to play with his cousins for the week. We have some fun things planned while they are here.

- My kids - both of them - slept in today! It was amazing fruit. Cain got up around 8:15 and Carly didn't wake up until 8:45. I had to check on her to make sure she was still alive. She never sleeps that long.

- Carly goes for her one year check-up next week. She is doing so many new things but the stinker still isn't walking on her own. She will walk all over if she is holding my hand but as soon as I let go she sits down. She still only has two teeth. Her hair is getting fuller and longer - she will be sporting a super cool mullet soon.

- We are going up north tomorrow for  two different birthday parties. So excited to hang out with all our family. Should be a super fun weekend :)

Father's Day

We were still up north for Father's Day which was nice because we got to spend time with both of our dads. Cain started the day off by giving Chris his present that he picked out all by himself - a pair of ninja turtle boxers. LOL As soon as he saw them in the store he knew he wanted to give them to Chris.

Chris is an amazing Dad! I couldn't ask for a better father for our children :)

Then we meet my Dad and grandparents at the park for lunch.

We had to go to an open house for Chris' cousin that afternoon and then we visited with
Chris' dad before we hit the road for our long drive home. We had a great weekend.

Carly is 1 -

so crazy that our baby is 1. This last year flew by. I know everyone says that and it seems so cliche but it is said so often for a reason. We had a party at my mother in-laws house for her. It was so nice out that day, couldn't have asked for better weather. It was so great seeing all of our friends and family together in the same place - I think that is my favorite part of parties. The kids all played in the pool, with squirt guns, bubbles, and having water balloon fights. Here are some of the pictures taken...

she looks so grumpy - I promise she was having fun

Our Rainy Day...

well we woke up to a rainy rainy day. I really just felt like hanging out in our pj's all day and lounging. Chris woke up with crazy eyes to go along with a stupid cold he has been battling. So I called the doctor this morning to get him an appointment right away.

So cold/allergies is what the doctor said and he was prescribe some eye drops and allergy meds. I am crossing my fingers that he kicks this before Friday when we go up north to celebrate Carly's birthday. I am also praying that no one else in our house gets any kind of cold/sickness. We've been so healthy and then the week before a party we have this - yuck!

So when Cain woke up he wanted to get his rain boots on and take his umbrella outside - ok fine why not.

catching rain drops on his tongue

Carly peeking out watching Cain
Also I can not open the dishwasher without her speed crawling towards it.

Tried to get some pictures of our baby birds today but the mama wasn't going anywhere today.
She had them nestled under her and we couldn't even get a peek but they are in there doing great.

Then a bit later the kids started getting stir crazy so I put Cain to work giving some of his animals a bath.

6 years

Today is our 6 year anniversary.

I don't write about my marriage often because it seems super personal to me and to be honest we are pretty boring. We don't fight. We have some arguments once in awhile but nothing crazy. We are both pretty mellow people and it takes a lot to get us going. I get upset easier then he does and he is super good at letting things go, so I just usually rant and he nods and then we are done. Ha!

In the last six years our lives have changed a lot even though it seems like our day to day stuff never changes - isn't it weird how that happens?
-We have moved three times in the last six years. (Coleman to Freeland to Midland to Belleville)
-We have experienced the birth of our two babies and the death of family members.
-We have transitioned from being a house of two working parents - to having a stay at home dad - to now having a stay at home mom.
-We have had five different vehicles between the two of us. (stratus, uplander, grand am, dakota sport, aveo)
-We have had extra money in the bank and we have had no money in the bank.
- We have been through sickness, surgeries, and hospital stays.

All that stuff doesn't seem to matter much because we have fun with each other - we actually enjoy hanging out - doing the boring stuff. Before kids it was midnight grocery store trips, boring Sundays at home, or taking trips and exploring new things. Now that we are a family of four it's trips to the local ice cream shop, going to the zoo, or playing with toys in the evenings.

I couldn't be more lucky! I have found an amazing man who is a great friend, husband, and father. Who I only feel like punching in the face on super rare occasions ;) He makes me super happy - makes me feel beautiful even when I'm feeling not - makes me laugh all the time - gets up in the night with the baby - doesn't mind doing dishes or cooking dinner - does bath time with the kids - works hard at a job he loves to support our family. Anyway you get the idea, I kinda love him and stuff. So here is to six years of marriage (ten years together) and many many more!

Little Birds...

awhile ago there was a birds nest on the back of our house up above our deck. When I found it I took it down because every time we went out on the deck the birds swooped down to fly away and it drove me nuts. I didn't know that there were little eggs in the nest at the time but they fell out and broke - making me feel like a huge bitch.
We went up north for a weekend and when we came back the birds had built another nest in the same spot. So this time I left there because I felt so bad about before. The birds haven't been as annoying about swooping down when you walk out on to the deck. So just today, Cain and I were eating lunch on the deck when I noticed this...
A super sweet baby!
There are two in there - possibly three.
These two just fed the babies as Cain and I watched them and took pictures.
The mama sat over the babies when the other bird flew away.
They are so cute. Can't wait to keep taking pictures of these little cuties.
