Playing with Cain...

all day everyday this week - Chris is in Portland (I am super jealous) and Cain misses his Dad. So we've been doing super fun things this week. I haven't had much time for pictures but I tried to take some on the trampoline the other day.

flying like super man

wrestling me - I'm not as good of a wrestler as Dad

Love this boy so much!

so what's been going with everyone?! Nothing exciting here - the normal everyday nonsense. But in case everyday nonsense is your thing I'll share mine.

Let's not talk about Mother's Day - nope we are skipping right over that shit. (We were up north that weekend visiting family so that was nice.)

My mother in law had an appointment with her surgeon on Tuesday afternoon and we got a call a few hours later that she would be having surgery the very next day. So we packed up and headed north again Wednesday morning. We dropped the kids off at my mom's house for the day and they spent the night too - holla! Then from there it's just sitting around and waiting and waiting (and in my case perhaps mingling with people you would rather not be mingling with.) I got to eat lunch with my husband in a restaurant while taking our time eating our own food. It was kind of like heaven. No sharing, no feeding other hungry little mouths, no trying to contain two small children in a place they don't want to be. We savored the moment! Then we waited some more. After a very long day we were able to see her again and things went good. They are at the point in her treatment now that they can't do to much more. It sucks.

So that's about it for our week. I was going to share our new trampoline pictures though. We ordered a trampoline for Cain for his birthday and decided to give it to him now so he could enjoy it during the summer. Also Chris was more excited then anyone about this damn trampoline! He was at a work thing the day it was delivered - he came home around 9pm and put the entire thing up by himself in the dark.

my computer is not...

working right now, we had to order a new charger, so I don't have any pictures to share. As soon as it's up and running be ready for tons of new pictures! We got our trampoline all set up and it's a huge hit with Cain to say the least. Just wanted to touch base and say hapy mother's day to all the moms out there :) I'll be back as soon as my computer is fixed.

I wish I had a...

bunch of fun things to talk about but I do not. I just have some random stuff floating around in my mind. We had a few more soccer games sense the last time I posted. Cain has been doing pretty good but last night was a weird night. He didn't want to participate at all. He wouldn't leave our side. The ball came right to him and he wouldn't kick it. It was strange but it got me thinking that perhaps he isn't ready for this. I don't want to force him to do something that he doesn't feel comfortable doing but on the other hand I don't want him to just give up yet. I also feel like we are going to be in a world of trouble come this fall when it's time for him to go to preschool if he won't leave our sides for 2 mins. We shall see how it goes I suppose.

Miss Carly is going to be one in June! I can't believe she is this big already. At this time when Cain was  her age he was already walking. Carly has no interest in walking yet. She walks along the furniture and has stood by herself for a few minutes but when she realizes she is doing it she sits down. Her personality is so different from Cain's already it is funny to see how different they will be :) They get along great the majority of the time. When Cain finds something that will make Carly laugh he does it over and over again to hear her giggle. It melts me.

Mother's Day is coming up this weekend. I think we are going to go up north with our family and to  spend time with our mom's. I cut out an ad for what I wanted for mother's day and kept moving it to different spots around the house so Chris would see it :)

Speaking of our mom's - Chris' mom is still battling with cancer. It has spread to other areas of her body now. She has been done with chemo for awhile now and has done her radiation. They were talking about possibly doing another surgery, so that is something I think we should find out soon. It's really hard to be far away when she is going through all of this.

My mom is going to be coming and spending a week with us soon when Chris is in Portland. (just for the record I'm super jealous of my husband) I'm glad she will be here with us. Mostly because I'm a baby and hate being home by myself :) and because we miss her.

We bought Cain a trampoline for his birthday - it should be here tomorrow. Even though his birthday isn't until August we wanted him to be able to enjoy it over the summer. I think Chris is more excited about it then anyone else. I'll be sure to post lots of pictures.

Cain's 1st Soccer Game...

and our weekend up north was so much fun! He finally got a game in. The weather was super nice. He was a tad bit nervous but did a great job. Looking forward to this Saturday's game!
getting ready to head to the game

warming up before the game

practicing hitting it with his head

in the circle with all the kids

After the game we drove up north for a few days. We didn't want to come back to reality.
got to meet my brother's new baby

we spent our sunday morning at cops and doughnuts for breakfast

Cain had chocolate with sprinkles

Chris had chocolate too

I had this giant cinnamon role and yes I ate almost the entire thing

Miss Carly wasn't impressed as she had no doughnuts

The rest of our days pretty much looked like this - playing outside
with cousins and enjoying the warm weather we finally got.
