We are ready for Christmas. Going up North this weekend to be with family. We are so excited - Cain mostly! We do the "elf on the shelf" with Cain and he really gets it this year. Last year he said the elfs name was Ziggy and this year he changed it to Pinocchio. Between Chris and I we haven't forgotten to move him. We did however burn a hole in his leg - oops.
Cain said his first cuss word (thanks a lot Grandma) last week - he dropped something and said "damn it". I asked him what he said and he looked at me and said it again. I asked him where he heard that and he said "well that's what Grandma Kay said". I told him we shouldn't say that and of course I should have just ignored it completely because now he says it a lot knowing I don't want him to.
We went to see Santa the other night. Cain has never been super keen on Santa. He likes him from afar. He will wave to him but he doesn't want anything to do with getting close. This year I really talked him up and we came so close to him sitting on Santa's lap. We went to the library and we were doing so good - waiting in line for our turn. Cain was excited and then he fell and hurt his chin. Started crying and no longer wanted to have anything to do with Santa :/ This was the best picture we could get. I am not complaining because it's the first one I have of him with Santa ever so I'll take it.
Carly went for her six month check up this morning and is doing great. She weighs 17 pounds and I think they said 26 inches but I can't remember for sure. Either way she is in the 75% for each category. She is advanced in her motor skills and is as healthy as can be - I am so so thankful for healthy children!
She is pushing herself up on all 4's and rocking back and forth. She also pushes herself backwards to wherever it is she wants to get. I think she will be crawling any day now.
She is eating all kinds of food now. She doesn't really like peas but she is doing ok with them. She likes avocado, peaches, and sweet potatoes the best so far. She was sleeping though the night but lately she has been waking up a couple different times through the night. I think she just misses Chris during the day and wants to see him at night ;)
We went to Chris' work Christmas party last week and had a great time. It's nice to be able to go out and spend an evening with adults. I still haven't really meet many people down here - it's hard when you spend the majority of your time at home with two little kids.
Still going to the gym a few times a week, in the evenings when the kids go to bed. I am so out of shape but I feel a difference already just in the last few weeks.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
