As a Mom I find myself worrying all the time about Cain. About everyday things - is he eating enough, is he sleeping enough, etc. About things that are more important - is he growing enough, is he learning enough, is he healthy. There are always the questions ofL am I doing the best I can as his Mom, does he know he is loved enough, am I giving him enough attention, am I letting him have enough alone time, - it can literally drive me bonkers the back and forth of it. I think you just do the best you can and hope your child doesn't turn out to be a serial killer :)

Cain has always been healthy - thank God - and I haven't had any major issues with him. He is small for his age but he is going to be tall and thin like his Dad. I don't ever see him being a giant child. He has always been very active. He has always been smart and seems to pick things up easily.

There is one thing that has recently started that I have been worried about. Cain out of the blue has started to stutter. (I realize this is so minor compared to what some parents have to go through with their children but makes me worry none the less.) He mostly does it when he is super excited about something, it is like his mind is working faster then his mouth. But it can take a bit for him to get out what he is trying to say. In extreme cases he even closes his eyes and kind of scrunches up his nose as he is trying to say whatever it is. It really was just one day he started saying something and started stuttering and it has been going on for a little bit now. When he is relaxed and completely calm he doesn't seem to have a problem speaking slowly and clearly.

I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there that has gone through this with their children or know of anyone who has. Part of me is freaking out that there might be something wrong that I should get him help with it and then there is part of me that thinks it's just a phase and he might outgrow it. So any advice, stories, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I'm kind of going crazy about it.

Long weekends ....

are freaking awesome! Loved being home with my boys for the extra days. We didn't do anything super exciting or out of the ordinary but it was wonderful :) We did go to a local parade on Monday - Cain was so excited about going to the parade but once we actually got there and it started he changed his tune. He started crying as soon as he heard the band. I think it's just the noise that scared him. He was fine after a few minutes.

Here is a picture of him on the car ride to the parade and every single time I take his
picture in that car seat I can't help but think he looks so gigantic. He looks like such a big boy!

And here is Chris and Cain - Cain never left his arms the entire parade.

What's In Your Bag...

I've been seeing these posts all over blog land and wanted to do one too.
Here is my current bag -

It is Nine & CO. and I do believe that it was purchased at Kohl's.
I like to change my bag regularly, not with every different outfit or anything but just like every few weeks.
I changed it out not to long ago so I cleaned it out when I did that.
As most Mom's know at any giving moment I can find Cain's toys or snacks in my bag too.
But here is what is in my bag today...

1. My planner - houses my everything! Chris makes fun of me for still carrying a regular planner instead of using the calendar on my phone but I like writing it down. It also holds my receipts, lists, coupons, important papers, etc.

2. My wallet - this is Nine & CO. also. It holds the normal: cash, cards, license, photos, etc. Nothing to special.

3. My coin purse.

4. Pack of tissues from Target.

5. Chapstick and my Revlon Lip Butter

6. Hair ties - I have extremely thick hair and tend to break these or lose them all the time.

7. Sucker from the bank - I usually keep a sucker on me at all times in case of the public toddler melt down emergency.

8. Sunglasses - cheapo's from Forever 21 - my FAV!

9. Keys

And then I usually have my camera in my bag. And keeping it real, there was half a bag of sour gummy worms in my bag but as soon as I discovered them I ate the rest before I even got around to taking pictures.

What we've been doing...

enjoying the weather by walking to the ice cream shop...
Cain got rainbow per usual.

That's my Dad on the left - he had cheese and bacon ice cream.
Cain had to taste test everyone's.

We've been hanging out at the park...
and he needs to have his hat and his glasses on to go to the park - obviously.

We finally got his pool out and he was so excited.
It didn't take long for the slide to make it's way to the pool.

Other then that I'm not really loving the heat. I am huge and uncomfortable.
I want it to be nice but not super hot out!
I went to the movies with my friend and saw The Five Year Engagement. I really liked it.
I've been having the Braxton Hicks contractions the last few days and I don't like it one bit :(

My Mother's Day...

I had a great day yesterday - spending the day with my two favorite boys! It started out with breakfast in bed.
Then I came out to a wonderful surprise of chocolates and a beautiful plant.

We then went to my Mom's for a visit. Cain loved giving Grandma her flowers. After that we grabbed lunch and headed to the park. We had perfect weather!

We stopped by Chris' Mom's house after the park and visited her for awhile. We got home and I got to take a nap - and then eat dinner that I didn't have to make thanks to my awesome husband! It was an amazing day and I wouldn't trade a day with these two for anything :) Hope everyone had a happy Mother's Day!

34 weeks...

with only 6 weeks left here we are...
can not wait to meet our little girl!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 34 Weeks
Size of baby: 4 3/4 pounds (an average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 in. long
Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity and a few regular shirts
Gender: It's a GIRL - Carly
Movement: Every day - all day
Sleep: So very tired again, so I am trying to get in as many naps as possible. Sleeping at night is going ok.
What I miss: not really much - just the usual stuff I've listed before.
Cravings: None really
Symptoms: lower back pain, super tired again and still shortness of breath.
Best moment this week: Uneventful two weeks. My doctors appointments are kind of lame right now. I go in and get a quick check, listen to the heart beat and I'm on my way.  I have bought a few more super cute things - can't wait for all the little dresses!

Sorry for the lack...

of posts in the last week...we have been SICK! All 3 of us - fevers, headaches, coughs, chills, etc. The worst part only lasted a few days. We are back to to normal for the most part except for this lingering cough I can not kick. My ribs and stomach muscles (who knew they were still in there) hurt from all the coughing going on. We spent much of the time napping, or laying on the couch watching movies.

The other bad part is that my mom got it and Chris' mom got it too - they are both still sick. So there was no one to take Cain for the day so we could really rest. We just took turns hanging out with him while the other one slept. Fun times.

Then Chris had to go on his first "out of town trip" for his new job. He headed to Washington DC on Monday morning. This left me semi sick, no sitters, can't go to work, giant and pregnant and exhausted. But the last couple of days Cain and I have been having fun and taking daily naps - yay for naps!

Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with a pregnancy update - 34 weeks!

Sleepy Boy...

Here is a picture of my little sweet man napping...

a rare occurrence at our house. This usually just happens if he fell asleep in the car and we carry him into the house.
Every once in awhile he will actually take a real nap - in his bed for a few hours - but mostly he is a ball of energy.
Jumping off of anything he can - our bed, his bed, the couch, the chair, the ottoman, you name it.
He also has started kicking at the air or punching at the air while perfecting his "mean face".
I have yet to get a picture of the mean face but it is the funniest thing ever.
I try and not laugh or encourage the kicking and punching but when he makes that face I can not help but chuckle.
He scrunches up his nose, squints his eyes, and his lips curl up to one side.
I don't know where he picked up this behavior - but I try my best to ignore it and hope it goes away.
He isn't doing it to others so that's the only way I can think of to handle it at this point.
My Dad told me the other day that this phase is just starting and I have many more years left of it - thanks for the encouragement Dad!
